Our plans don’t always work out the way we hoped. I can think of numerous things I’ve tried that didn’t get the kind of results I expected. Although much of what I’ve wanted to accomplish didn’t happen, I do see that each endeavor I’ve had has led to something pretty remarkable.
Each thing I’ve tried over the years was going to be the thing that led to my big success. Just a few of them were becoming a mortgage loan officer, going to school for law enforcement, being a singer in a band, running a nonprofit organization, and opening and managing a coffee shop. I also have attempted sports such as diving, body building, hockey, biking, golfing and running.
None of these endeavors have led to monumental success, but I wouldn’t trade any of those experiences. Each one has played a part in shaping who I am and contributing to the next thing I do. I am a better writer, speaker, personal trainer and business owner because of these experiences.
God has taken each of my plans and turned them into something even better than I could imagine. When I look back on the careers I have had, the sports I’ve played, and the relationships I’ve had, I can see that each one has taught me something that I can use in the next endeavor.
Each thing I do, I want to do to God’s glory. This means success may not look like what I am expecting, but I do know that if God is in it, there will be certain success. I am incredibly thankful for all that I have been able to do in my life. I’m excited about every opportunity God places in front of me, and I look forward with great anticipation to each new thing – and what He will do with that. I feel incredibly blessed that today I am a personal trainer who has the honor of helping my clients become healthier, stronger, and fitter. I see my life as exciting, challenging and, yep you guessed it – successful!
